The A Sound Education Student Showcase is a curated event of our students. It provides a professional and supportive stage where students of all levels and instruments can share their music with a live audience. Students will continue to gain valuable performance experience, including mastering stage presence, working with live sound setups, and building confidence as performers. They'll also have the chance to collaborate with their peers and participate in group performances.

Student Showcase Performance Opportunities
The Student Showcase offers two types of performances:
1. Student-Led Performances
These are independently coordinated by students and can include:
- Solo: A student performs on their own.
- Duet: A student performs with their teacher, a family member, or a friend.
- Student-Organized Ensemble: Bands or groups that students coordinate independently.
Students can choose any musical work they'd like to perform for these performances.
Students can…
- Sign-up to perform one (1) Student-Led Performance piece,
- Perform along with other students when invited by them to perform on their performance pieces,
- Perform up to three (3) songs in total for the Student Showcase between both Student-Led Performances and Instructor-Led Performances.
2. Instructor-Led Performances
For students looking to collaborate with peers in a structured band setting:
-
Curated Band: Students select up to four (4) songs from a curated list of 20.
- Parts are assigned based on student interest and ensemble needs.
- Students will perform up to three (3) songs in total for the Student Showcase between both Student-Led Performances and Instructor-Led Performances.
We recommend students start practicing all four selected songs immediately. Since there will be limited time between part assignments and the performance, early preparation is key!
Students are encouraged to listen to all of the songs and discuss the Student Showcase with their teachers before signing up.
The deadline to sign up for Curated Band Performances for February Student Showcase is 2/8.
There is no cost to participate or attend. The event is open to the public.
