About
Springing from the mind of Nirvana's Kurt Cobain shortly before his passing, the Jag-Stang is a dyed-in-the-flannel Grunge machine. Don't let it freak you out, it's super-offset body takes cues from familiar Fenders from the 60's. Legend has it Kurt cut up a picture of a Jaguar and a Mustang and thus the Jag-Stang was born! This hodgepodge mentality shows up in the featureset as well. The bridge and switching system come from the Mustang, the 24" short scale neck comes from the Jaguar, the neck pickup comes from the Stratocaster, and the high-powered bridge humbucker is totally its own thing! With the Fender Jag-Stang, you too can harness the hard-rockin' power that put Seattle on the map!
This particular guitar weighs 7LBS 11oz.
Made in Japan in 1997, this is from the original run and not one of the modern reissues. With that in mind, it's no surprise that this nearly 30-year-old guitar has seen some love over time. There are numerous small dings, scuffs, and scratches throughout. We've detailed these to the best of our ability in the included pictures. Of particular note are some finish chipping on the sides (mostly around the lower treble side), bucklerash and several other pox marks throughout, some pickguard discoloration/chipping, and a small crack near the neck joint. The crack is worth noting, but it's incredibly small, very typical of guitars this age, and doesn't seem structurally worrisome in the slightest. Frets have divots in the cowboy chord area with lighter wear up the neck. This does not affect intonation or playability. Please feel free to enquire with any additional questions.
