About
The Fender American Standard Jazz Bass was the modern flagship model of Fender’s classic J-Bass line until its discontinuation in 2016 (being replaced by the American Professional line). Since its introduction to the Fender lineup in 1960, the Jazz Bass has played an imperative role in the development of over half a dozen genres, like funk, prog rock, and, of course, jazz fusion. The American Standard was first produced in 1989 and then again starting in 2008, the latter of which has a variety of updated appointments like a Custom Shop single-coil pickup and C-shaped neck profile.
This bass weighs 8Lbs 15oz
This instrument has the wear you would expect from a nearly two-decade old bass. There's nothing egregious, its mostly just a myriad of small dings throughout the instrument. Most of these are located on the back of the intrument and the headstock tip, but the front does have some "pox marks". It's akin to a light relic job. Frets have some slight divots, mostly under the E and A strings. Neck is really comfortable! Worth noting also that the previous owner strung this bass with half-rounds. Never tried half-rounds before and want to? Save $40 and buy this bass! Comes with Fender premium hard case, original literature, and neck adjustment wrench.
