About
Manufactured for only one year between 2003 and 2004, the Fender FSR Splatter Stratocaster was as much of a unique art statement as it is a fantastic guitar! Every one of these MIM standards was uniquely painted from the factory in one of many possible paint and finish combinations! Underneath this Jackson Pollock paint splatter is a Surf Green finish and white pickguard combination. The stock Surf Green undercoat shines through the paint splatter more than some of the other paint styles in this line but it contrasts nicely with the color choices for the body and pickguard. The body's finish appears to have a clear coat over it while the pickguard was just painted. This gives the paint on the body a smooth feel and the pickguard paint has a textured feel to it. Beware if you're a heavy picker! You may do some damage to the pickguard paint job.
Overall this guitar is in good shape for a 20 year-old-plus instrument. There are a couple of small finish cracks on the armrest area and the neck joint. With how detailed the finish is, these are really only noticeable visually when you're staring up close at them. This is without a doubt THE most unique Stratocaster you'll ever see! Weighs 7 lb 12 oz.
