The SG Standard ‘61 returns to the classic design that made it relevant, played, and loved – shaping sound across generations and genres of music. In 1961, the Les Paul™ model was put on hiatus, and an all-new design evolved into what is today known as the SG™ or “solid guitar.” The Gibson SG Standard ‘61 retains the styling of the legendary original models from the early 1960s. It features a solid mahogany body with the classic double-cutaway SG shape, complete with the iconic deeply sculpted body scarfing and double horns that make this model instantly identifiable. Gibson included two highly accurate PAF-style humbuckers in the redesign, but with wax coating and a poly-coated wiring that will kill feedback dead.

For a 15 year old guitar, this is in phenomenal shape! There's a very small indentation on the body near the bass side of the treble pickup. Other than this, there are a couple of small scratches near the controls and input jack. Incredibly clean! The stock strap buttons have been replaced with black Dunlop strap locks that also double as strap buttons. Comes with Gibson hardcase, case candy, and a strap with the other ends of the straplocks
