About
The Dorchester model has a unique, futuristic look that gives a nod to the classic retro designs of the late fifties and early sixties. Even though it looks retro, this axe is forward thinking and futuristic. To maximize the tonal response, the designers at Godin selected a unique blend of tone woods for this model, which features an offset, double-cutaway chambered body with a silver leaf maple body center with poplar wings. Combined with a bolt-on maple neck and a 25-1/2" scale rosewood fretboard, provides the platform for each tone wood to exhibit its best attributes. The Lace Sensor Alumitone passive humbuckers have the best of both classic humbucker and single coil tones through the use of a 4-way switch.
This guitar weighs 7LBS 12oz.
The chrome roller bridge fits the classic vibe and modern function of this guitar. The strings are anchored in a 3-screw tailpiece that feeds a fully adjustable bridge assembly with rounded chrome saddles. The Kluson 14:1 tuners will keep you playing in tune. The neck is attached to the body at the 20th fret with four screws through a pair of neck plates, providing the benefit of excellent upper fret access. The satin finished, medium-large C-shaped, tapered neck, combined with a 12” fretboard radius and medium jumbo frets, makes for a very comfortable playing experience.
This guitar has the wear you would expect on a 10-year-plus instrument. There are no major dings or scuffs on the instrument. There are a few light scratches throughout, with the majority of them being on the pickguard. There's also some very slight weathering on the tuning pegs which adds to the vintage look of this guitar. The knobs have been replaced with a pair of Rickenbacker bass volume knobs. The master volume knob says "Treble Volume" and the master tone knob says "Bass Volume".
