About

Description

Made in Japan in the mid-80's, the Yamaha 1300TS was an at-the-time "modern" upgrade of Yamaha's venerable SG line of the 70's (made famous by players like Carlos Santana and Al DiMeola). The SG-1300TS is pretty similar to the SG-2000s with its brass hardware and body shape, but differs in it's set-neck construction rather than neck-through. It's a floyd rose, but it's not... Yamaha's take.

This guitar weighs 8LBS 13oz.

This guitar is in expected shape for it's age. Fortunately, its sleek black finish covers up most of the scratches unless you're up close. There are various nicks, dings, and scratches throughout the guitar. There are some significant nicks in the top of the headstock. There is pick wear on either side of the neck pickups. The original plastic is still on the rear pickup selector cover. The original nut has been replaced with a GraphTech TUSQ nut. This is a significant upgrade to the playability. There is some corner wear near the input jack. One of the screws has been replaced on the floating bridge. It sounds killer! Neck pickup is very creamy and produces a silky lead sound with a full bottom end for cleans. The bridge pickup is forward and clear.  Missing the trem-arm.

Unleash the rock n' roll fury with the Yamaha 1300TS!
